Donor Family Advisory Council

The Donor Family Advisory Council was formed in September of 2003. This group of dedicated donor family members, who hail from all across Ontario continue to provide guidance on the formation and implementation of best practices to support donor families during and after the donation experience. The council has been an integral part of the creation of Trillium Gift of Life Network's Family Support and Aftercare Program. The group is chaired by Linda Rumble of Whitby, a long time advocate of organ and tissue donors and their families. Other members include Nancy Lee and Dale Doige of Aurora, Mark and Michelle Kennedy of Nepean, Susan Diotte of Arnprior, Roger Presseault of Gloucester, Sue Morrison-Weir of Brights Grove, Margaret Hajdinjak of Thunder Bay, Carrie Hill of Vittoria, Jackie Riggs and George Guse of Wingham.

Provincial Volunteer Committee

As a non-profit agency that serves more than 11 million people in Ontario, volunteers play a critical role in helping Trillium Gift of Life Network to raise awareness of organ and tissue donation so that more lives can be saved.

To help support volunteers in their efforts, Trillium Gift of Life Network established a Provincial Volunteer Committee. The Committee provides guidance and support for volunteers, new awareness and education activities, as well as provides insights into the opportunities and challenges of promoting organ and tissue donation in large and small communities.

The Committee meets a minimum of four times a year and is led by a Provincial Chair and regional liaisons that are also responsible for spearheading regionally based volunteer networks to help strengthen and spread our message at the community level.

Youth Council

Trillium Gift of Life Network has is in the process of establishing a Youth Council. The council will be made up of a group of youth outreach advisors, chaired by Sarnia's Kristopher Knowles. Kristopher Knowles is a teenager awaiting a liver transplant. His cross-Canada tour in 2004 promoting organ donation captured the hearts and minds of the public, the media, and the thousands of students he addressed at schools visits during the year.
