The Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Golf tournament , Angus Glen Golf Club, Markham
September 16, 2010
The Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (charity registration #850554858 RR0001) is hosting its first Golf Tournament at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham (just north of Toronto) on September 16, 2010. The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for research into Pulmonary Fibrosis and raise awareness of the need for organ donors (donor consent registration forms will be available at the tournament). So far, about $50,000 has been raised due to some generous benefactors and a successful Spring Gala which raised over $12,000.
The price to enter is $250 - a lot of money, but the course is great having been used for two Men's Canadian Opens, The Canadian Ladies Open and PGA skins games. The price includes golf with a cart and dinner with wine and it may be possible to issue tax receipts. The event will also include raffles and silent and live auctions.
More information is available on the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation website where you will find a registration form to print off and mail in - please click on the following link www.cpff.ca

1st Annual Shirley Hall Memorial Golf Tournament, Pelham Hills Golf and Country Club, 196 Webber Road, Pelham
September 08, 2010
1st Annual Shirley Hall Memorial Golf Tournament
Shirley Hall was a wonderful lady. She was an RPN at the Welland Hospital for over 40 years and worked on the Woolcott Wing, Obstetrics/Paeds and the Emergency Department. No matter where Shirley worked, she was known for her compassion, professionalism and work ethic.
Shirley was always very aware of the wants and needs of others and this is further evidenced when she was recently taken suddenly from us as the result of an aneurysm. She was an organ donor via the Trillium Gift Of Life Organization and in the selfless donation of her organs, she further helped others to live a better life. Shirley had four passions in her life - her loving husband Jimmy, her children and grandchildren, her work and of course, golf. What better way to honour such a special woman than a memorial golf tournament in her name! All funds raised will go to benefit Welland Hospital's Emergency Room Department, where Shirley worked.
When: Wednesday September 8, 2010
Where: Pelham Hills Golf and Country Club
Time: Registration is 10:30-11:30, Lunch is 11:30-12:30
Golf: Tee off 13:00 hrs. sharp, Four person scramble
Price: $125 per person, limited to the first 120 golfers

National Kin-CCFF Day, events taking place across Canada
May 01, 2010
This annual program was created in 2003 to promote the long-standing partnership between Kin Canada and the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Hundreds of Kin Canada members will participate across the county by hosting fundraising events such as bake sales and carwashes as well as by selling daisy lapel pins and cut-outs. The daisy flower is the symbol of the Kin-CCFF partnership. Kin members have raised more than $37 million since the Kin-CCFF partnership began in 1964. Their ongoing support has helped to significantly improve the quality of life for people with cystic fibrosis and their families. To learn more, contact your Kin club or visit www.kincanada.ca.
