Members of the CAW Local 222 and Trillium Gift of Life Network volunteers will host the 3rd Annual Living Green Ribbon event on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the CAW Local 222 offices, 1425 Phillip Murray Avenue in Oshawa. Participants wearing green ponchos and carrying YES cards will form a Living Green Ribbon in support of organ and tissue donation. All are welcome.

The Irish Heritage Club will hold their 11th Annual "Walk for a Second Chance" for organ and tissue donation awareness. The event begins at 11 a.m. with warm-ups at 10:30 a.m. Public welcome to join (registration fee required).

Astellas Pharma Canada is presenting an amazing show featuring some of Canada's top variety entertainers to raise awareness for organ and tissue donation. The feature performer, Canada's Premier Event Illusionist Brian Michaels, is a double-lung transplant recipient and Trillium Gift of Life will be on site as the official awareness partner. There are two shows: 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Sport Fest Windsor / Sun Life Financial / WRACE presents a 1k family walk, a 5k run/walk and a 10k run to pay tribute to organ donors. Food and refreshments for all participants will be provided. Public welcome to join (registration fee required).

Through the month of April, three Windsor-based dentists will donate their time and cost of discounted teeth whitening to Sport Fest Windsor, as well as promote the importance of signing organ and tissue consent forms to patients.

Grand River, St. Mary's, Guelph General and Cambridge Memorial hospitals will host an information and "Register Your Consent" booth at each hospital from Monday April 19, 2010 to Friday April 23, 2010, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is a challenge during National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week to see which hospital can register the highest number of people consenting to organ and tissue donation.

Trillium Gift of Life Network volunteers will be on hand to provide you with information about organ and tissue donation and answer your questions. Registration forms will be available at the booths to make it convenient to register your consent. Come out to register in support of organ and tissue donation and help your local hospital win the challenge.

Hospital staff, patients, donor family members, transplant recipients and local supporters of organ and tissue donation will form a Living Green Ribbon at Hôtel Dieu Grace Hospital in Windsor at 10 a.m. on Monday April 19, 2010.

To celebrate and help promote National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Week and raise important funds for the program, with support from The Trillium Gift of Life Organization and the HeartLinks Heart Transplant Group, the Multi-Organ Transplant Ambulatory Care Progam will hold a green ribbon cookie sale during the week of Monday, April 19th to Friday April, 23rd.

Torontonians are invited to the square to demonstrate their support for the need for organ and tissue donors, learn more about the donation consent registration process, enjoy some live entertainment and join the volunteers, wearing green ponchos or carrying YES placards, as we come together to form a Living Green Ribbon in the middle of Yonge/Dundas Square!

Students, teachers, donor family members, transplant recipients and local supporters of organ and tissue donation will form a Living Green Ribbon at Westgate High School at 11 a.m. in Thunder Bay on Wednesday April 21, 2010.

Donor family members, transplant recipients, medical staff and supporters of organ and tissue donation will form a Living Green Ribbon at Kingston General Hospital at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010.

Trillium Gift of Life Network volunteers will host the "Big Splash" organ and tissue donation awareness event at the Oshawa Centre in Oshawa on April 23 and 24, 2010. Brochures, green ribbons, fact sheets, registration consent forms and more will be available. Stop by to learn about organ and tissue donation and have your questions answered.

London Transplant Gift of Life Association, in conjunction with London Health Sciences Centre, will again host an organ and tissue donation awareness display booth at the Western Fair Spring Home and Garden Show in London. The booth will be open from Friday, April 23, to Sunday, April 25, in the Community Service Area in the Progress Building at the Western Fair Grounds. The recipient quilt and album will be on display, organ and tissue donation awareness materials will be available and volunteers will be on hand to answer your questions.

Aileen Carroll, Member of the Provincial Parliament (MPP), Barrie is holding the annual open house at her constituency office to celebrate Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week on April 23, noon to 2:00 p.m. The event is being held to increase awareness of organ and tissue donation. Information and green ribbons will be available.

Supporters of organ and tissue donation will gather at Niagara Falls to raise awareness for the Gift of Life in honour of National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week. Donor families and transplant recipients will take part, and Trillium Gift of Life staff members will be on hand.

Niagara Falls will be illuminated in green at 9 to 9:15 p.m. and again at 10 to 10:15 p.m.

Please Note: At 10 p.m., to coincide with the second illumination of the Falls, Canadian and American participants will form a symbolic living green ribbon across the Rainbow Bridge. Participants will be wearing green ponchos and holding green glow sticks in honour of organ and tissue donation.

Students, teachers, donor family members, transplant recipients and local supporters of organ and tissue donation will form a Living Green Ribbon at Regiopolis-Notre Dame High School in Kingston at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2010.

Sun Life Financial's 3rd Annual Charity Challenge "Run Under The Sun" in support of Sport Fest Windsor and organ and tissue donation awareness will take place on Saturday April 24. CAW Local 1285 Brampton hosting it's first green ribbon at the hall Sunday April 25th right after the union meeting. Meeting starts at 10:00 a.m.

The Irish Heritage Club will be holding a press conference on Monday April 26, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Tom Davies Square (City Hall) in Sudbury to increase awareness of organ and tissue donation and to publicize the Walk for a Second Chance, which will take place on Saturday May 1, 2010. Local dignitaries will participate, and Dr. Frank Markel, President and CEO of Trillium Gift of Life Network, will be the guest speaker.
